Amagi-Class Battlecruisers (天城型) were started for the Imperial Japanese Navy on 6 December 1920. Due to the Washington Naval Treaty the project was canceled, and one of the 4 planned was converted into the aircraft carrier Akagi.

Amagi-Class Battlecruisers Amagi, Akagi, Atago, & Takao we're planned to be longer, and fasterfaster than the Tosa-Class Battleship. Have thinner armor and a modified secondary battery arrangement.
