RESEARCH: I started my career working in academic libraries and research archives, chiefly at the W.E.B DuBois Library at UMass, Amherst, the Bentley Historical Library, and the Lemuel Johnson Center and Library at the University of Michigan. I wrote an undergraduate thesis and had a portion of my research project included in a short excerpt for a social psych textbook on social stereotyping in industrial settings.
PRODUCTS/MARKETS: I took my passion for access to information into the market of information and knowledge, working first as an analyst for Google Books in the US, Europe, and Asia, then as a product manager for historical collections at ProQuest, and then onto information markets taking on the role of a market analyst at a leading research firm called Outsell, Inc.
STRATEGIC MARKETING/SALES: For about 10+ years, I have been learning how to develop, market, and sell multi-modal information and tech into B2B2C. I branched out of market analytics consulting into client management/sales at ForeSee, then moved into a sales director role at RedLink. The sales/revenue side inspired me to take on marketing positions to better understand go-to-market, segmentation, messaging, campaigns, and omnichannel growth. As such, I've held roles as director of marketing, sales, and outreach at U-M Press, lead product marketer at ProQuest, director of business development at TechSee, senior director of marketing at BookNook, and now global demand generation at Coursera.
