What this app is
Naughty Knitters is a fibre-arts map and directory for British Columbia, with the deepest coverage on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. You can browse listed yarn shops, indie dyers, mills, farm gates, guilds, and events. An optional paid Fiber Trail Pass unlocks extra detail. We do not require you to create an account.
What we collect
Purchases: If you buy a Fiber Trail Pass, Apple handles the payment. We use RevenueCat to check whether your Pass is active. We receive a purchase status and an anonymous app user id from RevenueCat. We do not receive your full credit card number.
Map and directory data: Shop names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, map coordinates, and event details are business listings stored in our Supabase database so the app can show them. That is listing data, not your personal diary.
Device and diagnostics: Apple and our hosting providers may receive standard technical data (for example that the app was opened, or a crash report) so the app can run. We do not sell this.
Location: The map shows listed business locations from our database. Version 1 does not ask you to share your own GPS location. If a future version does, this policy will be updated first.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email, or photos to use the map. We do not sell your information. We do not use the app to run ads against you.
Who we share with
Apple, for App Store distribution and in-app purchases. RevenueCat, to unlock the Pass. Supabase, to store and serve listings and events. These companies process data so the app works. They are not allowed to use it to market to you on our behalf.
How long we keep it
Purchase status is kept while your Pass is active and as long as Apple or RevenueCat require for receipts. Listing data stays until we remove a shop or event.
Your choices
You can use the free map without buying a Pass. You can restore purchases in the app. You can cancel a subscription in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. You can email no1pine@hotmail.com to ask what we hold, or to ask us to delete what we can delete. Apple keeps payment records on Apple's side. We cannot erase Apple's copy of a purchase.
Children
Naughty Knitters is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If the app starts collecting more (for example your location, or an account), we will update this page and the date at the top.
