Creativity
This Spring, we focus on creativity—the ability to imagine original ideas or solutions to problems and make them happen.
We’ll help kids develop creative mindsets and strategies that they can use throughout their lives to invent new things, solve problems, express their ideas and feelings, and to nurture relationships.
And, we’ll do it all through enriching, outdoor play!
We believe that the outdoors provides the perfect environment for learning, and that learning occurs through playful engagement with the environment and each other.
Children learn through self-determination.
Our program holds early learning science at the core, and we help grown-ups support the learning process.
Each one-hour class includes singing, playful creature play, an open invitation to guided play and our closing circle.
Guided play incorporates children's schematic development, with differentiated entry points. Grown-ups are encouraged to play along and consider their Explorer's unique developmental stage.
I'm an elementary school educator with 20 years of experience, most recently focusing on math education. I am also a 200-hour trained yoga teacher, and have a certificate in children's yoga from Karma Kids Yoga in NYC.
I spent my childhood playing in my backyard, raising chickens, and roadtripping to many of America's National Parks.
My own two children love our Tinkergarten classes, and I'm looking forward to working with your family!
