As academic expectations in public elementary schools have become more demanding over the past decade, some educators have turned to the outdoors as a means of providing meaningful, relevant and tangible experiences for students. The Forest Kindergarten movement, which took hold in Europe about 50 years ago, is now flourishing in the United States in many different forms of nature-based early childhood. From nature preschools to one-day-a- week in the woods to forest kindergartens, early childhood centers and public schools are using the natural world to ground the academic curriculum and build confidence, resilience and perseverance in students.
To help you become part of this powerful and invigorating movement, we offer professional development that provides skills, meaningful training and experiential learning opportunities!
