The Natte Bealiba FNC are currently playing in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League since 2011, formerly competing in the Lexton Plains FNL. In 1961, Natte Yallock and Bealiba FC's merged to created what we now know as the NBFNC, officially joining the Lexton FL in season 1962 with Ivor Streeter the founding President and David Bench the Senior Coach. In 1969 the senior footballer tasted their first premiership success under the guidance of Mel Durbridge and on the back of 3 years of heartbreak with consecutive runners up. It didn't take long to stay atop of the Lexton FL, with back to back premierships in 1969 and 1970.
Both Bealiba and Natte Yallock grounds were used for both training and games until the mid 1990's where it was decided it was best to relocate full time to one venue. At a club meeting, it was decided that the Natte Yallock Recreation Reserve (now CHS Broadbent Oval) would be the permanent home of the NBFNC.
With many more grand final apperances throughout the 70's and 80's it was the recruitement of Alistar Egan, alongside homegrow talent Mark Cossar as joint Senior Coach in 1993 with a runners up performance, followed by the 24 year drought being broken in 1994 and again another back to back premiership was delivered in 1995. In 1999 the Lexton FL was dispanded and joined forces with the then Western Plains FL, creating the Lexton Plains FL. A Grand Final apperance in 2007 was the only major success, before the league dispanded, which is when the club joined the Maryborough Castlemaine District FNL. Immediate success under first year coach Noel Jacobs saw another 16 year drought broken against arch rivals and another MCDFNL newcomber, Navarre by 18 points. Now 8-time Selwyn Ross Memorial Club Best & Fairest Winner Stephen Ross was awarded Best on Ground along with recruit Zac Perez.
Since joining the MCDFNL, the senior footballer have regularly featured in preliminary finals and again reached the Grand Final in 2018, with Jarrod Bateson at the helm. It was 2019, Zeb Broadbent and Marc Lindsay toke the reins and claimed premiership success by a slim 4 points, with home grown Jye Mortlock and Josh Grant awarded best on ground honours. Over to 2024, when the last premiership the footballers have seen, Trent Mortlock coaching and brother Jye captaining to another famous NBFNC victory over Trentham FNC by 79 points. Star recruit and fan favourite Will Cameron was named best on ground after a scintillating performance.
Currently the club fields the following football grades:
FOOTBALL:
- Seniors
- Reserves
- Under 18's
- Under 15's
- Under 12's
The Netballers have also had their fair share of success throughout the years, a Senior double in 2011 joining the Senior Footballers as A Grade Premiers (Coach - Ingrid Hopkins) and most recently with the A & B double in 2022, both coached by Sue Borserio with outstanding victories accross the board.
A great history and legacy made by many members that came before those present, a club that is proud of its history and looks forward to creating more.
