Interested students from Science and Engineering backgrounds are invited to contact for Postdoc, PhD, and BTech/MTech Projects.
Academic Qualifications:
I am a geoscientist driven by a curiosity for multidisciplinary research. With a Ph.D. in seismology from the University of Cambridge (UK) and postdoctoral experience in marine geophysics at IPGP (France) and the University of Oslo, my research focuses on the impacts of climate change and the pursuit of sustainability. I am particularly interested in the vulnerabilities of densely populated coastal regions to global warming and its consequences. My research spans a range of interconnected issues, including sea level rise, seawater intrusion, groundwater quality, coastal and seismic hazards, landslides, glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs), and the exploration of low-carbon energy alternatives like geothermal resources. My approach utilizes integrated geological and geophysical techniques, including non-invasive methods, machine learning algorithms, remote sensing imagery, and satellite data analysis. As an educator, I teach theoretical and practical courses covering tectonics, climate, hydrogeology, and resource exploration. Our laboratory is equipped with observational instruments such as geodetic-grade GPS, VLF-EM equipment for subsurface resistivity measurements, and broadband seismometers, enabling in-situ data acquisition.
