PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: An estate located to the North of Mewar near the border of the British district of Merwara. The ancestor of this branch of the Rathore Dynasty was Rao Duda of Jodhpur, who was granted the watan Jagir of Merta. His grandson, Rao Jaimal had 14 sons, one of whom was Kunwar Mukand Dasji who was granted the Jagir of Badnore by the Maharana Amar Singhji of Mewar for services rendered after the fall of Merta in 1561. Thakur RAGHURAJ SINGH, 17th Thakur Saheb of Badnore, married Thakurani Yeshwant Kumari, born 23rd February 1938, daughter of HH Maharawat Sir Ram Singhji II Bahadur of Pratapgarh (Rajasthan), and had issue. He died 6th March 2018 and was cremated the following day in his home village of Badnor.

The thikana is head seat of Mukundasot sub-clan of Mertia Rathore dynasty and was founded by one of the 14 sons of Rao Jaimal after the fall of kingdom of Merta.
There were 117 villages and Revenue was 70,000Rs as per another source.
None of the sons is recognised as head of Mertia dynasty as the kingdom of Merta was conquered by Mughals and the princes scattered and their names below are not in order of seniority. There are several claimants including the rulers of Rian, Kurki, Jawla, Gular, Ghanerao, Maroth and Kuchaman.
