NathGeo

I was born to Cajun parents of Avoyelles Parish in central Louisiana. My maternal grandmother spoke only French as a child. She was spanked at school for speaking it. My mother studied French in college. To honor our French heritage, she decided to spell my name the French way, with an H.

I frequently refer to myself as "Nath" (with that H intact) even though the H is silent.
So I'm owning that H and making it part of my journey.
I think it's the perfect spin on the nickname of everyone's favorite geographic society,
NatGeo.

In February of 2024, I was named a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow
with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions.
I'll embark on the National Geographic Explorer in June as it circumnavigates the British Isles.
I'll use what I learn to inspire my students.

Come follow me as I go on the journey of a lifetime!
