Fern and Sheena met in 7th grade when they happened to have an identical class schedule. This was convenient since Fern needed someone to carry her backpack around school while she was on crutches. Fern and Sheena particularly enjoy going on Starbucks dates and going dress shopping together. Fern is so excited to have Sheena by her side at the wedding that they have been planning since 7th grade.
Isaiah is not only Nathan's brother, he is and has always been Nathan's best friend. They've gone from fighting over the most ridiculous things to having the strongest relationship that brothers can have, despite the fact that they live across the country from one another. Isaiah is Nathan's biggest role model and has had immense influence on the young man Nathan is today.
Fern and Drew met in Kindergarten, but didn't get really close until middle school. Drew is such a thoughtful, kind, creative, and caring friend, who Fern could always lean on when she needed. Drew would even bike from his house to Fern's just to give her a hug when she was having a tough day. He is a friend who you can do just about anything with and have a good time because he can make it enjoyable.
Nathan met Essaw when they were in the first grade playing wall ball during recess. It's safe to say that their relationship has progressed significantly over the years as they've had classes together, played in orchestra together, and spent countless hours playing basketball with one another on various courts in the Kent area.
Every brother and sister have a fair amount of fights growing up, but these two had even more. Fern and Guthrie hardly see eye to eye, but somehow love each other a tremendous amount. One might say that they have a dysfunctional relationship, yet something that they do agree upon is that Nathan is pretty awesome. Nathan and Guthrie have been tight ever since they met and are practically already brothers.
Nathan and Joey met in seventh grade and it didn't take long for them to form a deep friendship. They have been there for each other through thick and thin and Joey was a large catalyst in boosting Nathan's confidence to pursue Fern in the first place. Joey is the ultimate hype man and the best friend a guy could ask for.
Fern and Mavis met in 2020 through UW's Chorale. After forming an instant connection, they have now created three duets and performed alongside one another on several occasions. Mavis is a constant voice of encouragement and positivity that means the world to Fern.
It is rare for there to be three Nathan's in one English class and four Nathan's on one high school cross country team, but that was these two Nathan's realities. Nathan C. is one of the most fun and energetic people that you can be around and when he is in the room, you are destined to have a good time. Nathan C. has been an amazingly supportive and close friend for Nathan E. over the years, even though he lives in Colorado.
Oddly enough, Nathan K. and Nathan E. didn't become great friends until high school despite being in orchestra together in middle school. Once they got closer, though, they formed a friendship that will last a lifetime. These Nathan's have pushed each other to be better, and Nathan E. is extremely grateful for all the memories that they've made over the years.
Fern and Sage met in kindergarten. Since then, they have been in countless musical and choral performances together, including a state-qualifying duet during their senior year of high school. As Fern's roommate throughout college, Sage was Fern's voice of reason in difficult times and never fails to offer support and love when Fern most needs it. Sage is the type of friend that only comes around once in a lifetime.
Fern and Silvana met in UW Chorale and initially bonded over the fact that they were both majoring in Psychology. Their relationship reached a new height after being roommates on an epic trip to NYC and sitting side by side at Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Silvana can light up a room with her energetic and fun personality and can always make Fern happy with her relatable and charismatic charm.
Nathan and Ty met in the 5th grade and immediately took a liking to one another. Ty was relatively new to the country, and was the most generous and loving friend that Nathan had. He always pushes Nathan to be the best version of himself and will be there to support those that he holds dear no matter what. Ty is the first to offer his time and resources to be there for someone in need and Nathan is beyond thankful for their friendship.
