Nathan A. Dowell, PhD
I am a senior lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at The Ohio State University, where I received my PhD in Spring 2025.
My research broadly focuses on epistemology and philosophy of religion (see "About Me") and explores questions like:
Are the sources of justification for our moral, mathematical, logical, and philosophical beliefs fallible or infallible?
What does the fallibility or infallibility of our justification tell us about rationality and how we should respond when we disagree with others?
How reliable are we in identifying the content of our intuitions?
How does reflecting on other people’s perspectives contribute to philosophical and moral knowledge?
What do different views about God tell us about the nature of reality and morality?
