Some moments leave marks you cannot see — moments where you learn to draw a line, not on paper, but in life.
Even when clouds cover the sky, my light stays bright. I protect my heart.
One day, I looked up at the sky and saw the clouds. In the middle of the gray clouds, there was a bright light shining through. It reminded me of myself. Even when things feel heavy and unclear, I need space to let my own light shine. This was when I learned that setting boundaries is like finding that light.
Like the sky, I also needed space to figure myself out.
I once tried to draw a girl on an etch a sketch, but the lines turned messy. It did not look like what I wanted. That is how I felt when people tried to tell me who I should be. Their words and rules made me feel unclear inside. I learned to set emotional boundaries and protect my heart, so I can draw my own picture of who I am.
Not everything needs to be perfect.
But even messy lines can lead to solid ground.
This is my space, my peace. I decide where I can rest.
The last picture is of my bare feet resting on a table while looking at tall trees on a mountain. It was so quiet up there. I felt safe because I chose where I wanted to be, away from the busy crowd. I learned that it is okay to protect my space, to rest, and to say no when I feel uncomfortable.
Here I stand, firm and free, where I choose my own space.
These pictures are pieces of me, quiet reminders of where I end and the world begins.
