Team-based learning (TBL) improves student learning through a structured, evidence-based, whole-course framework.
I was fortunate to be selected to attend the TBL training at the AEA CTREE conference in May 2019, which was sponsored by the NSF Grant on Team-Based Learning (TBL) . Afterwards, I developed five Application Exercises (AE) pertaining to implementing TBL approach in the classroom. These AEs were published on the open access web site “Starting Point: Teaching and Learning Economics”, which is devoted to sharing innovative teaching strategies and providing instructors with the tools to begin integrating and assessing these teaching strategies in their own classrooms. I consider the impact of my work on this project to be measured not only by my own students’ learning but also by promoting of teaching innovations among instructors, and, therefore, multiplying the transformation effect of this innovation.
