Teaching Portfolio

Hello! I am Natalia Smirnova. I am a faculty member at the Department of Economics at the University of Connecticut.

I aspire to teach my courses in an engaging way to make sure that my students fall in love with Economics and its applications. 

I am honored to have received The Grillo Family Excellence in Teaching Award in 2021 and Stamford Faculty Recognition Award in 2021 and 2023.

In 2024, my contribution to the Early Collgee Experience (ECE) program were acknowlwgded by the Thomas E. Recchio Faculty Coordinator Award for Academic Leadership. My work on career competencies integration in the curriculum was recognized by the Career Competency Innovation Award from the Center for Career Development.  

I served as the inaugural Faculty Fellow at the UConn's Center for Career Development in the Spring 2023. 

This site is dedicated to the exploration of the evolution of my teaching.  I share my pedagogical innovations, creative ideas, and reflections on various courses and teaching methods.
