Short Biography (Mini CV): Professor Dr. Natália Bellan, Italian, is an Engineer from CEFET-SP, Pharmacist & Biochemist from UNESP/Brazil and USC/Spain, Master’s and Doctorate from USP, and the first and only PhD in Regulatory Science/Regulatory Intelligence in the world. She created a new line of Professional Research applied to the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory agencies/sanitary surveillance in accordance with international regulatory requirements (Research officially filed in 2011). Over the last 20 years, she has trained/supervised more than 3,000 professionals at the postgraduate/MBA (latu sensu) level in regulatory affairs. As the first and only professional in this field, many pharmaceutical sciences undergraduate programs now include her publications and books as references for students.
She began her research and work in the field in 2005, at less than 30 years old, becoming one of the youngest women to earn a doctorate (2016) with an MRes, while managing different industry projects, teaching, and writing articles and books to build "New Science - Regulatory Intelligence with Business Strategy" in the most regulated and complex sector in the world.
As she did not receive funding to develop a new line of innovative research in Regulatory Intelligence applied to medicines and medical devices, she transformed her technical and scientific knowledge into a business, books, and courses to fund her research and personal livelihood. In 2010, she founded Sanitary Intelligence.
Thanks to her pioneering work, Sanitary Intelligence is currently the first and only Company & Corporate University specializing in sanitary regulation, public health, and sanitary surveillance, operating in the public, private, and third sectors. It is recognized by the USP Innovation Agency and the Brazilian Federal Pharmacy Council (Publication DOU 75.702/22). In 2024, it was a finalist in the Innovation category at the International Congress in Spain.
Specialized in innovative and high-complexity products and projects (medications, biologics, vaccines, pain management, oncology, rare diseases, medical devices, SAMD, IVD, robotics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, neuroscience, quantum products, reference standards, pharmacopeia).
During her Master’s, she also specialized in administrative, civil, international law, public health, human rights, patent law, economics, corporate finance, business administration, marketing, pedagogy, and higher education legislation. This made her a highly qualified professional in the pharmaceutical sector, capable of performing strategic analysis for investors and chairpersons.
Over the last 12 years, due to the high complexity and confidentiality of internationally developed projects, she also worked as Chief & ChairWoman in Scientific, Regulatory Intelligence & Business Strategy. She has also developed technical and regulatory defenses, oral arguments in administrative processes, trademarks and patents, recalls, and legal proceedings, mainly involving disputes between industries and regulatory agencies.
She currently works on Regulatory Intelligence and Business Strategy projects for manufacturers, importers, distributors, investors, holders, shareholders, stakeholders, CEOs, presidents, board members, regulatory agencies, the public sector, universities, associations, foundations, research and teaching institutes.
She also works as a reviewer and writer for scientific journals since 2006 and as an international correspondent for newspapers and magazines, particularly for Europe and Brazil.
Fluent in more than four languages, Dr. Natália has lived in various countries such as Italy, Brazil, Spain, the UK, Malta, and Norway, which has allowed her to combine different professional knowledge and life experiences. This international journey has given her a unique perspective on how to help both individuals and companies thrive based on regulatory, scientific knowledge, and human development.
