Some projects end with a limbo state* or the developers simply lose interest in the concept, sometimes feeling it would be better executed later on in Nataku Games' life or simply just because the project just wouldn't execute in the way it was planned.
*Halting development and then never continuing or making very little progress.
An origin story for Nate "Pixelkid" Starr, the protagonist of all Pixelkid games to date, about his first adventure.
Scrapping reason: Writing an origin story for a video game character who is meant to be relatable but still possesses extreme abilities such as building a rocket at the age of 12 is very difficult.
A minigame collection based on the YouTube series which preceded 3 LIVES, featuring the main cast of the series as NPCs or playable characters. There is very little story, but the episodes all feature minigames taken straight from the show.
Scrapping reason: Everything broke in 2021 and the main developer lost interest with the growing complexity of the code, which became too messy for him to read.
The High Council of Guinea Pigs has been infiltrated, and all council members have been trapped! These events transpire during a war against the Hamampters, the mortal enemy of the Guinea Pigs. You play as the high council member, Susie (a.k.a. The Cloverlord), breaking out of her cage to see that she is at the top of the dungeons, and she must go farther down to save the rest of the council members, so that the Guinea Pigs do not fall victim to the tyrannical Hamampter Overlord.
Scrapping reason: Limbo from 2021 to 2023 where no progress was made. Backend code changed too much too often and the game was recoded 3 times in different engines, none of which worked the way it was imagined.
You play as Nathan Gold, trying to find the memories he lost prior to August 30th, 2011. He doesn't know why his memories vanished, yet he is aware of some unknown force that seems to be controlling his friend, Nick. This is a cryptic story built up over several months that requires analytical skills and decryption to solve, and will hopefully provide a tough challenge for the detectives who might play.
Scrapping reasons: The death of the 3 LIVES YouTube series means the story can never be fully realized. While it's true scripts exist, the game itself has been stuck in limbo from 2021 to 2023. May revisit later in the form of a visual novel, rather than a full-fledged video game.
Essentially just a Tamagotchi but with disturbing visuals & sound should the player fail in taking care of their virtual pet.
Scrapping reasons: Possible copyright issues, limbo, graphic imagery that simply didn't suit Nataku Games. Hey, at least this project gave us the text engine we would later use in Project Infinity and PKDeX.
So, you got framed and declared Guilty. That sucks, right? Well, yes, but you can make some new friends, who'll help you escape, or you can even make some enemies, if you feel like there should be real material to go back into prison. This game is loosely based on Team 17's 'The Escapists' series, however all the characters, rather than always being random, are set and have their own specific personalities, written by Nathan Gold and Oataku-chan, to provide a lot of excellent story-telling.
Scrapping reasons: Too ambitious for the team, may revisit later. Suffered from limbo.
