The Native American Scholarship was established to support Native American students and allies in their educational journeys at Cabrillo College.

Application Deadline: December 31, 2025
Selections will be based on the completion of the application, which includes a personal statement describing the applicant’s commitment to serving Native American/American Indian/First Nations/Indigenous communities. Students involved in the Indigenous Club are especially encouraged to apply.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee of faculty, staff, and administrators with expertise in Native American cultures, peoples, and histories. Scholarship funds will be disbursed in the Spring 2026 semester, upon verification of enrollment. Award recipients will be notified at the beginning of the semester.

Any member of a state or federally recognized tribe or Alaska Native village is eligible to apply for a scholarship. You can also be eligible by proving descendancy from a parent or immediate grandparent that is/was an enrolled member of a state or federally recognized tribe or Alaska Native village.
Award amount varies, averages between $2,000-$3,000

Must be an enrolled member of a U.S. Federally Recognized American Indian or Alaska Native Tribe/Entity or a direct descendant of a base roll member. (Contact your tribe or the BIA to find out how to apply for enrollment, and/or apply for a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood).
Award amount between $500 - $2,000
Bureau of Indian Affairs Higher Education Scholarship
To obtain a BIA grant application, contact the specific office that services the tribe where you or your parents/grandparents are registered.

Eligibility: Students concentrating on tribal cultural resources management and preservation, including but not limited to archaeological field schools or programs, language revitalization, anthropology, and/or Native American/American Indian studies who reside in the State of California.

Graton Rancheria FIGR Scholarship
Applications ongoing. Apply by August 1st to qualify for the entire school year. Apply before December 30th to qualify for Winter and Spring quarters.
Only open to students who are California Native Americans but not members of a federally recognized tribe
