I started nashworld back in 2008 as an element of my role as an Instructional Coach at Benton High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. The original purpose of what was then called Virtual Southside was to create a shared space for the facilitation of professional learning conversations in my school. I also wanted to gain firsthand knowledge of the pedagogical value of widely publishing reflectively on my own learning.
Soon after, I moved Virtual Southside to another collaborative platform, and continued my individual writing here. I used what seemed like a silly name at the time as a placeholder until I could come up with a "real" title. By the time I can chosen a replacement, a got a pile of feedback from readers that they preferred the original. So, nashworld today remains a record of my learning, reflection and advocacy especially throughout the period where schools were moving toward ubiquitous computing initiatives...
