Camp Lessons
Throughout the summer I led lessons for the camp students. I did space lessons for students in first grade all the way to eighth grade. Students engaged in robot galaxy painting, space battle bots, Creating their own Nasa Patch, and many more activites! One of my favorites that we did a few different times was our eggstronaut drop. This was so cool, the students were all given an egg which was their astronaut and $1000 (fake) to spend on materials from the Space Store, they were then given time to build a spaceship that would help their astronaut to survive. Students built parachauts andt took all differnt types of engineering skills and tested them with their eggstronaut drop!
Boys and Girls Club
Throughout the summer we worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs. One thing we did that was awesome was a video game lab. We gave the students few directions and really just let them explore. The students were given the task to use microsoft makecode arcade to code their own video game. The students started out frutsterated and wanted more guidance, but by the end they were sharing and playing their own video games that they designed and coded all by themselves!
