The Naruto run, or ninja run, is a running style based on the way the characters run leaning forward with their arms outstretched behind their backs. It became popular in 2017 when groups worldwide organized events to run like Naruto characters, especially on anniversaries of the series.[157][158][159] On June 27, 2019, Matty Roberts posted a satirical event called "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us" on Facebook where he wrote "We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let's see them aliens."[160] This quickly became an Internet meme, resulting in nationwide alerts and warnings issued by Nevada law enforcement and the U.S. Air Force to not go to Area 51.[161]

Naruto is a Japanese anime that was made by Pierrot that aired from 2002 to 2007. The English dub is licensed in America by VIZ Media and broadcast by Cartoon Network, which was censored due to the network's content guidelines in order to get a TV-PG rating as a result. Violence was toned down, and some TV-Y7-FV is shown on episode 1.

Naruto (site is Japanese only) first appeared in 1999 as a serial manga (cartoon) in the comic magazine Shonen Jump. It quickly became a smash hit, and over 50 million copies of a book collecting together the comic strips have been printed. The animated version of the comic series has been a fixture on Japanese TV since 2002. And the second full-length Naruto movie is scheduled to hit the theaters in August 2005.

With how big of a franchise Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto is these days, it's quite eye-opening to look back on how everything began. The series now has a huge following in the United States, and a lot of that is due to the anime making its debut on Cartoon Network's Toonami block. Above many of the other Toonami offerings of the time, Naruto's popularity has gone beyond its anime roots and is often considered one of the general cartoon hits for Cartoon Network.

Years later, Cartoon Network is looking back on this success by paying homage to it in a pretty awesome way with a few of its current cartoon hits on the network. Gathering the heroes of series like We Bare Bears and Craig of the Creek and putting them in cosplay for special art, this cool promo got right to the heart of Naruto fans.

Cartoon Network's current line up of hits is stronger than ever, and it's only getting stronger as brand new series are joining the line-up. This hilarious shout out to Naruto is absolutely welcome, and it's a blast from the past considering that Naruto hasn't been a part of the official Cartoon Network broadcasts for a while. It's currently running as part of Adult Swim's Toonami block, and it's probably going to be some time before any of these cartoons approach that late night block.

The animated television series, produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex, premiered across Japan on the terrestrial TV Tokyo network and the anime satellite television network Animax on October 3, 2002, and stopped airing in 23rd March 2017. Viz also licensed the anime for North American production. Naruto debuted in the United States on Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block on September 10, 2005, and in Canada on YTV's Bionix on September 16, 2005. Naruto began showing in the UK on Jetix on July 22, 2006. It began showing on Toasted TV on January 12, 2007 in Australia, although it could be watched on Cartoon Network in 2006. The first series lasted nine seasons, while the second began its first on February 15, 2007.

In its English anime release, Naruto was aired with a TV-PG rating in the US and a PG rating in Canada. More explicit episodes, such as Jiraiya's debut and the battle with Zabuza, have been given a TV-PG-DS or a TV-PG-V rating. References to alcoholism, Japanese cultural differences, mild language, mild sexual situations, and even blood and death remain in the English version, though reduced.[6] Other networks make additional content edits apart from the edits done by Cartoon Network, such as Jetix's more strict censoring of blood, language, and the like are the same. The Adult Swim versions of the show did not edit anything.
