If you want a rugged, wired solution built specifically for submersion and intense water sports like swimming or surfing, choose Naroote Swimming Headphones; if you need versatile wireless audio with active noise cancellation, translation features, and all-day battery life for land-based workouts or travel, choose QXUFV Earbuds.
• Naroote Swimming Headphones: Strength lies in its IP68 rating allowing full submersion up to 3.6 meters and secure clips for vigorous movement; trade-off is the wired design which limits range and requires a device with a jack. Best for swimmers and water athletes who need reliability underwater.
• QXUFV Earbuds: Strength is found in its Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, ANC technology, and massive 48-hour playtime; trade-off is an IPX7 rating that handles sweat and rain but not full submersion like the Naroote. Best for runners, gym-goers, and travelers needing smart features.
The Naroote Swimming Headphones are engineered for one specific environment where most modern electronics fail: deep water. The defining feature here is the IP68 rating, which isn't just splash-proof; it allows the unit to withstand full submersion up to 3.6 meters. This makes it a non-negotiable choice for lap swimmers, surfers, or anyone engaging in water sports where the headphones will be completely underwater. You cannot use standard earbuds in this setting without risking permanent damage, but the Naroote is built to handle the pressure and moisture of these activities with confidence.
Beyond just surviving the water, the design focuses heavily on staying put during high-intensity motion. The inclusion of two sturdy cord clips along the cable prevents the headphones from tangling or swinging around your head while you kick or paddle. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable fit that won't slip out, even when you are doing flip turns or diving. With four different sized ear tips included, you can achieve a customized seal that blocks water effectively, which also helps in enhancing sound quality by isolating external noise.

However, this specialization comes with significant limitations for general use. The reliance on a 3.5mm jack and a 40cm cable means you are tethered to your music source. While the short cable is optimized to reduce drag and prevent tangling in the pool, it offers zero freedom of movement for running or walking around a gym. There is no Bluetooth capability, meaning you cannot pair these with a phone in your locker or a treadmill console wirelessly. If your workout routine involves leaving the water or moving freely around a room, this wired constraint becomes a major friction point.
The QXUFV Earbuds represent a shift toward smart, multi-functional audio for the modern athlete who needs versatility across different environments. These are designed as true wireless units powered by Bluetooth 5.4 technology, ensuring a super fast and stable connection with a reliable range of up to 15 meters. This freedom allows you to leave your phone in a pocket or bag while you run, cycle, or hit the weights without any physical tethers. The transparency mode is a standout safety feature, amplifying surrounding sounds in real time so you remain aware of traffic or gym equipment while still enjoying your playlist.
For those looking for the best wireless headset for workout scenarios on land, the battery life is a game-changer. The system provides up to 6-8 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, and the charging case extends this total playtime to a staggering 48 hours. This eliminates the anxiety of running out of power mid-workout or during long commutes. The hardware itself supports five adjustable equalization modes—Standard, Classic, Jazz, Rock, and Pop—allowing you to tune the sound profile to match your musical preference, whether you need powerful bass down to 50Hz or crisp treble up to 5 kHz.
While these earbuds are robust, they are not built for the same extreme conditions as the Naroote. They carry an IPX7 waterproof rating, which protects against heavy sweat and rain, making them suitable for intense cardio sessions. However, they lack the IP68 certification required for submersion. You should not take these into a pool or a shower where they could be fully submerged. Additionally, the inclusion of advanced features like AI translation, touch controls on the charging case, and active noise cancellation adds complexity. If you prefer a simple "plug and play" experience without managing settings for EQ or translation languages, the feature-rich interface of the QXUFV might feel like overkill.
• Best for underwater use → Naroote Swimming Headphones: Only the Naroote has the IP68 rating to survive full submersion up to 3.6 meters.
• Best for battery longevity → QXUFV Earbuds: Offers 48 hours of total playtime compared to the limited runtime of a wired device dependent on your player.
• Best for wireless freedom → QXUFV Earbuds: Bluetooth 5.4 removes all cables, whereas the Naroote requires a 40cm tether to a 3.5mm jack.
• Best for noise isolation in pools → Naroote Swimming Headphones: Designed with specific ear tips to block water and provide stereo sound underwater.
• Best for situational awareness → QXUFV Earbuds: Transparency mode keeps you connected to your surroundings, unlike the noise-isolating design of the Naroote.
• Best for multi-sport versatility → QXUFV Earbuds: Suitable for running, cycling, and gym work, whereas the Naroote is strictly for water sports.
• Best for durability in rain/sweat → Both: Naroote handles heavy sweat and rain, while QXUFV handles similar conditions with IPX7.
• Best for smart features → QXUFV Earbuds: Includes AI translation, touch controls, and customizable EQ modes absent in the Naroote.
In my opinion, for the vast majority of people asking about headphones for workout purposes, the QXUFV Earbuds are the superior choice. The convenience of Bluetooth 5.4, the ability to last nearly a week on a single charge, and the smart features like noise cancellation make them far more practical for daily fitness routines. The Naroote is a fantastic niche tool, but its wired nature and singular focus on water sports limit its utility outside the pool. I would buy the QXUFV because it adapts to my changing schedule, whether I am running outside, lifting indoors, or traveling, without sacrificing sound quality or comfort.
The QXUFV Earbuds come with features like timers and touch controls that can appeal to tech-savvy users, but the Naroote includes multiple ear tip sizes for a customized fit, which can be safer for younger users who need a secure, non-slip fit during active play.
Yes, sound behaves differently in water. The Naroote uses noise isolation technology specifically tuned to deliver crisp highs and deep bass even while submerged, whereas standard earbuds like the QXUFV are not designed to function acoustically below the surface.
No, both products listed are in-ear designs. The QXUFV offers a transparency mode that amplifies external sounds rather than using an open-ear bone conduction design, which is important to note if you require hearing ambient noise naturally.
Value depends entirely on your needs; if you need translation, ANC, and 48 hours of battery, the QXUFV offers premium features. If you only need to swim, the Naroote is a specialized, cost-effective solution for that single activity. Check the current price on Amazon to see how they compare to your budget today.
