AMS FAQ's

Which NARFE officers have what access to AMS information?

How do I find out the names of deceased members ?

If you are a chapter officer, you can get information about deceased members in your chapter with the M112 Chapter Activity Report for the date range desired (but no earlier than 6/1/2019 when AMS was implemented).

Federation officers may need to send a message to NARFE membership ( memberrecords@narfe.org ) in special cases.

How do I contact CAB to request a new feature on the AMS?

How do Chapters verify the dues they receive from National?

Why does the Contact Us page on the NARFE-hosted websites have the wrong officers listed for my chapter?

The “Contact Us” section reflected in the NARFE-hosted websites looks at the OAM as of 6/1/19 and not the AMS files. This discrepancy will be corrected with our new website. In the meantime, NARFE IT can do a manual update for individual websites that need corrections.

What normally happens when a dropped member is reinstated?

How do I have a link to my Chapter website included in the “Find a Local Chapter”? How do I edit the information to include meeting location and dates ?

Once you are logged in to the Officer Portal, find your chapter dashboard. The six oval buttons include one that says “Update Chapter”. Select that, and you will see a form that allows you to add a meeting location, dues amount, and a text box that can be used to tell about chapter meetings. There are also spaces for your website and Facebook URLs.

Here’s a sample message for the text box: "NOTE: During the pandemic, in-person meetings have been suspended. Register at [federation/chapter email address] if you want a link to one of the virtual meetings. In non-pandemic times, the chapter meets on the first Tuesday of the month, from September through June. No meetings in July/August. Social Hour 11:30-12:45; Soup/Sandwich lunch can be purchased; General meeting begins at 12:45 Speakers are announced in the newsletter and on the Chapter website and Facebook page. Email [email address of secretary or chapter contact] for more information."
