Nageswararao Narayanam, a post graduate began his journey way back in the 1980s starting from his family business and then taking off individually into the trading of molasses, and then export of the same and subsequently set up liquid storage terminal tanks at kakinada and karwar capable of storing all types of liquid commodities including bitumen.
In the year 2001 when the state government put to auction some loss making co-operative sugar mills which were beyond revival, Nageswara Rao Narayanam, a multi-faceted entrepreneur, with the great acumen, boldly ventured into the sugar industry and picked up the 2500 tcd, old dilapidated sugar mill located in bobbili and expanded it into a 5000 tcd modern sugar mill and further went on to build a 20 mw co-generation power plant ( with a multi fuel boiler) alongside the sugar mill to augment the power needs of the villages located in the backward district of vizianagaram.
