I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Strategic Leadership Studies in the College of Business at James Madison University. I am also a visiting researcher at the Gradel Institute of Charity in New College, University of Oxford. I earned my Ph.D. in public administration from Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. I study about the processes and consequences of organizational behavior in public, private, and nonprofit organizations. My current research focuses on board governance, collaborative governance, and volunteer management.
