Nanophotonics Lab (NPL), previously at the Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad, has been moved to Manipur University since February 2023. NPL conducts research on the development of optical sensing platforms based on plasmonic and photonic devices to detect chemical and biological molecules at ultra-low concentrations.

- SERS sensor for the detection of toxic chemicals and biological agents
- Whispering gallery mode sensor for cancer biomarker detection
- Nanofabrication and Nanoimprint lithography
- Multifunctional nanostructures for photocatalysis and SERS sensing applications
