Dr Vildan Bayram

Vildan started her PhD studies in School of Materials under the supervision of Dr. Suelen Barg and Prof. Ian Kinloch in September 2015 and completed it in January 2020. She is a chemistry graduate from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey and she has a Materials Science and Engineering master’s degree from Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey. In her PhD study, she developed three dimensional hierarchical structures based on exfoliated MXene sheets using freeze casting and other electrode fabrication techniques and investigated their application in supercapacitors. Her PhD studies were funded by Newton-Katip Celebi Fund. Vildan now works as a researcher in the Department of Energy Storage Systems at TÜBİTAK Rail Transport Technologies Institute, Turkey. Her work focuses on lithium ion battery technology.
