Research
I've always liked math and physics and I believe that the interplay between the two fields is very interesting. I love to learn about partial differential equations (PDEs) and numerical analysis, which are both great tools to have for studying math and physics. I am currently learning about computational electromagnetics with the intention to do research on the virtual element method (VEM) applied to problems in electromagnetics.
Current Projects
- Computational Electromagnetics
I am currently learning about the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method and learning how to apply this method to toy problems in 1 & 2D.
I am also learning the fundamentals of mimetic finite-difference methods
Past Projects
- Graduate Intern, Lawrence Berkely National Lab
Internship through Sustainable Horizon Institute's Sustainable Research Pathways Program
Investigating image segmentation through quantum random walks
- Graduate Intern, Idaho National Laboratory
I interned in the Computational Mechanics and Materials Department learning about and applying different sensitivity analysis (SA) methods.
- Capstone project, University of Michigan
I learned about particle-in-cell (PIC) codes for my capstone project at the University of Michigan (advisor: Dr. Robert Krasny) and used it to simulate the two-stream instability of a one-component electrostatic plasma.
