Highlights:
Seismic stability analysis of finite soil and rock slopes
Based on a unified framework of slip line theory, recent pseudo-dynamic approaches and strength reduction technique
A novel concept of limiting slope profile (LSP) operates as an auto-guided measure for slope stability
This new stability criterion obviates the need for any preordained collapse mechanism in the analysis
The derived slope geometry also responds well with the morphological aspects involved in landscape evolution
It mandates a quick and inexpensive measure for stability of both new and existing slopes
In confirmation with different case studies and numerical simulation
Few outputs till date are presented below:
Stress characteristics mesh (Nandi et al. 2021)
Normalised stress contour (Nandi et al. 2021)
Application of the LSP-based stability concept: Design of new slopes (Nandi et al. 2022)
Application of the LSP-based stability concept: Seismic stability evaluation of existing slopes (Nandi and Ghosh 2023)
