Welcome to my profile! I'm Nandini G, a Prime Minister's Research Fellow at the School of Earth Ocean and Climate Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar, India, I am working under the guidance of Dr. V. Vinoj. My research focuses on urban climate dynamics, particularly the escalating challenges posed by extreme weather events in the context of global climate change.
Through sophisticated modeling techniques, I delve into the impact of rapid urbanization, on different meteorological parameters like temperature and rainfall. As urban areas expand at an unprecedented pace, understanding the intricate relationships between land use changes, regional climate dynamics, and urban microclimates is vital for sustainable development and effective city planning. My research aims to illuminate these complex connections, offering valuable insights for policymakers and scientists alike.
Additionally, I've explored the connection between aerosols and the Indian summer monsoon during my post-graduation studies, and I am keen to continue investigating this area further. Join me on this research journey as we explore the transformative effects of urbanization on the urban environment.
