Everyone needs a good listening to...
Take a step towards wellbeing, healing and growth in a safe space where you can explore what is on your mind and troubling you, and be listened to without judgement.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with a general practice providing individual therapy to adults and adolescents utlilising an integrated approach to address a wide range of issues. I have significant experience of working with people suffering from eating disorders, addictions, and trauma, as well as challenging life issues including anxiety, depression, family and other relationship difficulties, grief, shame, stress, and feeling overwhelmed.
What is key in all aspects of working as a psychotherapist is the capacity to listen without judgement or expectation. I work in an integrative way, incorporating my training, intuition and personal experience of self-enquiry and development. Using varied approaches and creative tools when appropriate. Creating a safe, calm space where each individual is supported in their journeys of recovery, healing and growth. Working collaboratively, and with empathy within each relationship is fundamental to me.
I have an innate sensitivity, the capacity to think clearly and be curious with my clients as they seek to understand themselves. I have extensive knowledge of 12 step fellowships giving me a wealth of experience, strength and hope from which I draw inspiration.
My work with people suffering from the effects of trauma is informed by the training I undertook with therapist and author Babette Rothschild (The Body Remembers) with whom I currently work as a teaching assistant on workshops training therapists across the world to work safely with trauma. I utilise somatic trauma therapy tools, meditation, breath work and mindfulness practices to support people in centering their bodies, regulating their nervous systems, and self-soothing.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), appearing on their register of therapists and working in accordance with the BACP code of ethics. My qualifications include FdSc Counselling (Distinction), BA (Hons), Aim level 3 and 2 in Counselling.
