Working as a psychotherapist I listen without judgment or expectation. I work in an integrative way, incorporating my training, intuition and personal experience of self-enquiry and development. Using varied approaches, I offer support with multiple issues including: eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, shame, low self-esteem, relationship issues, loss and loneliness.
Creating a safe, calm space I have an innate sensitivity, the capacity to think clearly and be curious with my clients as they seek to understand themselves, heal and grow. Working with empathy in a collaborative and creative way with each client is core to my approach.
My work with people suffering from the effects of trauma is informed by the training I undertook with therapist and author Babette Rothschild (The Body Remembers) with whom I currently work as a teaching assistant on workshops training therapists across the world to work safely with trauma. I utilise somatic trauma therapy tools, EMDR, meditation, breath work and mindfulness practices to support people in centering their bodies, regulating their nervous systems, and self-soothing.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), appearing on their register of therapists and working in accordance with the BACP code of ethics. My qualifications include FdSc Counselling (Distinction), BA (Hons), EMDR, and Aim level 3 and 2 in Counselling.
I have a background working in corporate life, leading and inspiring individuals and teams to reach their potential. During this part of my career, I undertook multiple trainings centred around understanding myself, and others. This part of my life has given me a breadth of knowledge and life experience that contributes to my work now as a psychotherapist. I have also benefited from my awareness of support fellowships for over thirty years, giving me a wealth of experience, strength and hope from which I draw inspiration.
I am currently working in person, in the Surrey area in Epsom, Headley and in Hove and Brighton. I also work online - via Zoom and other encrypted platforms.
What you share will always be confidential, and met with understanding, compassion and empathy. Sometimes we may find ourselves sharing a smile or laughing together. If therapy with me is something that you feel you would like to try, then please contact me to talk about how I may help.
I offer Counselling / Psychotherapy / EMDR to individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, faiths, and cultures.
I offer initial 20-minute phone or online conversations that are free of charge. This will give us the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and if I have the appropriate experience and approach for us to work together.
Sessions thereafter are usually weekly for a 55-minute duration.
I offer short-term therapy (we will agree on the initial number of sessions together and review) or longer-term.
