Accepting submissions from Black trans/non-binary/intersex creators *only*

We pay every contributor through crowdfunding. We have successfully funded all prior issues, and we hope to significantly raise our rates for issue 4. Our staff is volunteer and though our budget is small, we encourage open negotiation on rates. Note: we rarely accept previously published work.

PITCH US A COVER STORY. Any topic relating to Black Trans Power. Non-fiction, memoir, reporting, profiles, and pop-culture criticism will all be considered. Send us an email with a paragraph on your idea, a paragraph on the personal and practical experience that makes you the right person to write it, and 2-3 links or attachments of writing samples. $150 base rate for ideally 1,500-2,000 words (negotiable). Previous publication experience not required.

We're also seeking:

Cover Art. We're seeking striking images that depict Black Trans Power for our issue 4 cover. We're partial to single-subject portrait photography but group portraits, art, and more will all be considered. $100-$150. Submit an image or series of images through our submissions form. Must be high-res enough to be printed at 8.5x11.

Art Photography. Please send us any art, photography, and visual media that speaks to the theme.

Comics. We love publishing comics, and would like to find one or more multi-page works for our next issue. Due to the nature of comics and the unique labor of its creative teams, our comics rates are fully negotiable. Please leave a note in your submission form about desired payment.

Fiction and Non-fiction: Starting rate of $40 for minimum 600 words.

Poetry. $10 for one poem. $2 each for additional pieces.
