The Naked Wines Shop Review

    -   Naked Wines Club has great "easy drinking" wines and a unique model that supports small winemakers.

    -  It's like "Shark Tank" — winemakers propose their blends and get an advance to produce their wine.

    - The advance is funded by customers, who can score bottles up to 60% off listed prices.

If buying unique wines at affordable prices and having them delivered to your door is convenient, you should check out Nakedwines.com.

The 14-year-old company invests in more than 150 independent wine producers around the world and uses a strong business strategy to deliver unique, premium wines at affordable prices. Down. For consumers, Nakedwines.com is an affordable way to get great, unique wines delivered to their door. For winemakers, it's like "Shark Tank" for their industry: they bring wine, it's approved, and Nakedwines.com gives them the resources to get there. Part of how the company gets the money to operate in this way is through more than 100,000 volunteer "Angel" clients who act as investors.

Once accepted into the program (and I'll sit "everyone" is), members of the Angels deposit $40 per month in their bare Piggy Wine bank. This pool of crowdfunding helps direct wine to invest in its winemakers, but never lost to the angel group either; The $40 from the virtual piggy bank can be used on anyone's wine orders whenever they want - in other words, it's pretty much like a wine bank account.

If everything goes according to plan, it's good for companies, consumers and drinkers - like Carmen Stevens, who will be the first black woman in South Africa to get a degree in alcoholism (supported by 2,000 angels at $200,000 in eight hours). To be clear, what you are getting is not a traditional wine registration. You can buy wine directly from the site as you would anywhere else (although you have to transfer six bottles), but the angels of the site get special benefits.

They save 40-60% on all their orders and get a ton of freebies and benefits such as examples of other wines included in their delivery, bottles of Angel wine that cost $20 or more per month, they order alcohol, access. Visits to wines reserved for angels, invitations to wine tastings to meet the winemakers, and access to the most important phone lines for any assistance needed.

I'll bet a lot of people end up on the site thanks to this weirdly generous new $100 shopping voucher - I got mine in a box from Bloomingdale's. Using the voucher, I received a discovery case containing twelve bottles of wine from the many offers on the site. With a $100 voucher - which you can also get by clicking on the top right button that says "voucher" and entering your email - the case is $79.99, instead of its current retail price of $179.99 (its traditional price is listed at $264).

The promotion varies depending on the number of bottles in the box - my colleague redeemed a $50 voucher for six bottles of wine. And man, wine is good. I was happy and even a little surprised by their attitude, considering that I got $100 and a lot of wine. The cheap bottles are what you would call "easy drinking" wines - nothing bold, dramatic and revealing - but perfect for casual drinking. Nakedwines.com has got the "wine of the week" niche right. Shipping is also cheap.

For orders under $100, Nakedwines.com charges $10. For orders of $100 and up, shipping is free - except for New Jersey, Hawaii and Alaska (you can see the rates for these states here). Wine will be delivered within four to seven business days (Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday) during normal business hours, but make sure someone over 21 years of age can sign up for the package. One thing I would like to point out is that if you have problems with your shipment or if you do not like the wine, you should contact Nakedwines.com for help.

My experience with them has been as a consumer rather than a reporter, and I like their willingness to make sure I have a good experience, even if it's not for their immediate benefit. This means that if you really hate the wine, they will give you a refund. The site has a "cast iron, no questions asked, 100% guarantee".

What makes Nakedwines.com even more interesting is that it also has a social network. Winemakers and cooperatives. Winemakers get direct feedback from customers, and customers can ask them questions. Indirectly, members can recommend and recommend wine to each other. This communication creates a choice of search and self-promotion, integrated into the transaction from top to bottom to the granular level of your account; if the wine does not taste good to you, take the head of his hand in the palm of your hand: from then on they will remove you from the wine that does not taste good to you. Nakedwines.com uses this as an indirect voting system, helping them determine which winemakers do the best job of making wines that people really love.

The bottom line

Overall, Nakedwines club offers great wines at accessible prices, with the ability to get as involved as you want. It's also easy to cancel directly from your online account if you change your mind, instead of calling or emailing customer service.

If you use Naked as a casual drinker, you'll find great cheap wine (even if you don't use the $100 off coupon) through an interesting system that make you feel better than ordering again. Crate of wine online.
