Nakao Lab started at the University of Tsukuba in April 2025.
Our research interests include: Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs), Data Assimilation, Fluid Dynamics, Numerical Simulations, and Geodynamics.
We aim to elucidate the physical processes and mechanisms of complex systems that cannot be directly observed, such as those within the Earth, using data-driven approaches and fluid-dynamics-based modeling.
Our research philosophy is that if you are interested in using mathematical science to "see the invisible", your research topic is not limited to geoscience. We welcome interesting proposals related to flows in artificial structures, living organisms, or human traffic. Let's work together to explore modeling methods and predictive/control techniques for various topics.
