I am an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a fellow at the Global Labor Organization (GLO), and a research affiliate at Global Action for Policy (GAP).

My research examines how exposure to armed conflict and other shocks shapes human capital and well-being over the life course, and how policy can respond, primarily in developing and conflict-affected settings. A complementary line of work studies the non-academic effects of the four-day school week in the United States. Across these projects, I aim to produce rigorous, policy-relevant evidence on the short- and long-term consequences of shocks and interventions.
