I am an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a non-resident fellow at Global Labor Organization (GLO) and a research affiliate at Global Action for Policy (GAP).Â
My research examines how exposure to armed conflict and other shocks affects human capital and well-being across the life span, with a primary focus on developing and conflict-affected contexts. A complementary line of work investigates the non-academic effects of the four-day school week in the United States. Across these projects, I aim to generate rigorous and policy-relevant evidence on the short- and long-term consequences of shocks and policy interventions to inform policy and practice.
