As one of the ways of providing self-employment and entrepreneurial opportunities especially for women in the nearby villages, NAIOTH established a small-scale liquid soap-making facility in its premises in May 2022. We are thankful to the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO-SACO Canada) for making this project a dream come true by providing funding and the technical expertise. We are also thankful to the Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO), Tanzania, for manufacturing and installing the necessary equipment.
Some unique features of our liquid soap are:
Instead of using chemical-based perfumes, we use natural ingredients such as lemon and orange peels.
We re-use empty plastic water bottles as containers for the soap.
Eight single-parent women are selling these for earning an income for their daily living.
