Material donations are really valued by NAIOTH, as they can be used in many useful and beneficial ways in the currently on-going and future projects. These can be in many different forms, such as used and new:
Computer equipment, laptops, printers, etc., in usable good condition, that could then be distributed to schools, orphanages, school & university students who need them, but cannot afford to buy them.
Clothing, bed linen, shoes, toys, furniture, school textbooks and other school supplies, children's books, and many other items in usable, good condition that can be distributed to poor families who mostly need them.
Farming equipment, medical equipment, any other usable household equipment, appliances and accessories in good condition.
NAIOTH is working in collaboration with other institutions and agencies (such as: schools, hospitals, farmers associations, etc.), and community groups (such as: single-parent families, HIV-infected adults and children, etc.). Thus, in consultation with them, NAIOTH will be able to decide how and where to use or distribute your material donations to gain the maximum benefit from the donated items.
NAIOTH provides many volunteering opportunities for local Tanzanians as well as volunteers from other countries who would like to experience the Tanzanian culture first hand by themselves by working together with NAIOTH staff and other volunteers.
Some volunteering opportunities (but not limited to) are:
Providing help and getting immersed in the Day Care activities, such as:
Teaching English, playing, drawing, painting, story-telling, conversations in simple English, organizing field trips and other fun, engaging activities with children
Caring for children with mental and physical disabilities
Providing advice and suggestions on how things could be done better and more efficiently
Getting involved with organic farming activities, such as:
Learning from each other more about organic farming, and good agricultural practices
