Many rural communities in Tanzania are either unaware of or, not paying proper attention to diseases preventable by following good health practices and timely vaccinations.
Realizing this and knowing well what the plight of an already poor family would be, with a single parent becoming gravely sick, or a child becoming sick and a single parent not being able to go out to earn a daily income, NAIOTH is periodically arranging and coordinating health clinics with government health officials.
In June 2021, NAIOTH organized with Tanzanian Government health authorities in Simanjiro District, a Health Clinic for vaccinating adults and children.
In this clinic, about 60 adults were vaccinated for Covid-19 and over 100 children were given various vaccinations, depending on their age and what vaccinations they have been given before.
