Lenochka (Ukranian Songs)

Now watch the introductory remarks from the founder of the method.

A series of fragments of the 1st lesson now follows: Warm-up, Tetrachords, Degrees. Watch each video clip in turn.

Warm-up

Tetrachords

Degrees

In the next lessons, this work is repeated and new exercises are added.

Below are some excerpts from the 2nd lesson in which the students worked individually.

Musical sounds are called DEGREES.

But first, the continuation of the opening remarks ...

The fragment "Degrees: Dominant-Tonic"

shows the work on the functions of the degrees.

Imagine a staircase with 8 floors-degrees, where the most stable degree - TONIC - sits on the first floor. And on the 5th floor - there is a DOMINANT - also a very important step.

Also, the concept of the LEADING TONE degree is introduced here (7th floor).

Next fragment - IMITATION

Repetition of the "Degrees" fragment. The teacher shows the direction of the leading tone with her hand.

The essense of the chromatic alteration

In the third lesson, very often, after the seemingly clear initial two lessons, a kind of muddle arises in students' heads, everything gets confused.

Do not be upset or discouraged (this happens for everyone). By the 5th lesson everything will start to make sense.

Imitation

4th lesson - working individually, repeating everything already covered.

We'll show two fragments with new material.

We develop not only a melodic ear, but also, in parallel, a harmonic ear. We learn to hear basses, chords, and be able to sing different voices.
