Teens and older audience who likes thrills and suspense in gameplay where their choices matter in the story.
I decided to challenge myself by making a horror-themed visual novel. A genre I had not done before in visual novel format. In order to convey the serious atmosphere and scares, the choices of picking the right SFX and BGM play a huge part.

A point-and-click visual novel that gives players clues about the past in each episode. It somewhat resembles a short series where players can make a choice of how the story should end.
Unlike the other visual novels I made, this sets in a serious tone. Thus, I had to take the perspective and the lighting to account. Not just that, I have to keep in mind that the background art style must fit with the character sprite art style and that includes not too complicated coloring.
These are the 2 samples of the 2D character sprites I had made for this visual novel.
Due to the serious tone I want to convey, I draw the sprites in anime style with simple coloring and shading.
With these, the art style matches with the scenes and the endings.
