About me

My research focuses on the computational and neural mechanisms of mental imagery. Using a combination of neuroimaging, psychophysics, machine learning, and computational modeling I try to answer questions such as 'How are mental images generated by the brain?', 'To what extent is this similar to perceiving the external world?', 'How do we keep apart imagination and reality?' and 'What is the utility of mental imagery - of simulating sensory signals?'

I am currently working as a Senior Research Fellow at the Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging at University College London. I obtained my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the Donders Institute in Nijmegen in 2019 after which I moved to London to pursue a postdoc at UCL. See my CV or publication list for more details.
