1. Black Tiger Shrimp

Black Tiger shrimp commonly known as the Giant Tiger Prawn or Asian Tiger shrimp Striped like its jungle namesake.
Scientific name Penaeus monodon.
In Bangladesh black tiger called as “Bagda Chingri”.
Black Tiger shrimp is available year-round and is one of Asia’s major aquaculture products.
Most Tiger shrimp is farmed, though a significant amount is harvested from the wild by trawlers working mud bottoms from very shallow water to depths beyond 300 feet.
The largest of 300 commercially available shrimp species worldwide, tigers can grow to 13 inches, but harvest size averages 9 to 11 inches.
Farmed black tiger shrimp have a mild, almost bland flavor compared to the pronounced taste of ocean-harvested Gulf shrimp.
Cooked tiger’s meat is also softer than that of other shrimp species.
Tigers have gray to black stripes on gray or bluish shells and associated stripes on the peeled meat.

Freshwater King Prawn's scientific name is Macrobrachium rosenbergii, also known as the Giant River Prawn or Giant Freshwater King Prawn.
Bangladesh is considered as one of the most suitable country in the world for Freshwater Prawn “Golda Chingri” due to its climatic conditions.
It is found throughout the tropical and subtropical areas of the Indo-Pacific region, from Bangladesh, India to Southeast Asia.
It is one of the biggest freshwater prawns in the world and is widely cultivated in several countries for food.
They are predominantly brownish in color but can vary. Smaller individuals may be greenish in color and display faint vertical stripes.
Bangladesh is major Asian supplier of Freshwater King Prawn and mainly available from October to March.

Cat Tiger shrimp commonly known as the Rainbow Shrimp is a marine crustacean that is widely reared for food also called cocktail shrimp or flower shrimp. Parapenaeopsis sculptilis is the scientific name of Cat Tiger shrimp.
In some regions this shrimp called green tiger prawn which scientific name Penaeus semisulcatus.
Availability of Cat Tiger shrimp in Bangladesh is generally from November to March but it may vary.
Cat Tiger shrimps are fished with nets (trammel) in the Central-Western Pacific Ocean and the Eastern and Western Indian Ocean (Parapenaeopsis sculptilis) or fished by trawl in the Eastern Indian Ocean (Penaeus semisulcatus).

Harina is a species of prawn.
Harina shrimp scientific name is Metapenaeus monoceros makes up an important portion of crustaceans and is of commercial importance throughout its range.
It is also known as Speckled shrimp, Brown shrimp in English.
In Bangladesh Metapenaeus monoceros are available from aquaculture and marine, both origins.
Due to their low salinity preference they are commercially cultivated in the same pond with the Black shrimp in Bangladesh.
It is a meaty shrimp, firmly textured and mild in flavor.
Adult Harina shrimps are pale gray with dark brown spots giving them the name brown shrimp or speckled shrimp.
They have red–orange antennae and basically medium-sized prawns. Metapenaeus monoceros seasons were found to vary with time and location and environmental factors.
In Bangladesh, December–April and August–September are the two main seasons.

The White Prawn (Penaeus indicus), is one of the major commercial prawn species of the world.
A marine shrimp called as Chaka Shrimp locally in Bangladesh.
Penaeus indicus is known by many common names around the world, including Indian white prawn, Indian banana prawn, Tugela prawn, Banana prawn and Red leg banana prawn.
White Chaka shrimp has a sweet, mild flavor, low to medium oiliness and moist flesh with a medium texture. Flesh is translucent when raw and white with pinkish bands when cooked.
Penaeus indicus is found from the Indo-West Pacific: East and South East Africa to South China, Papua New Guinea and North Australia.
Their breeding periods in Bangladesh are October-November and May-June.

Crab any of the members of decapod crustaceans belonging to the suborder Brachyura with a broad, rather round, upper carapace and a small abdomen tucked beneath the body living in marine, brackish, or freshwaters.
Though they differ from species to species in size, shape, colour and structure, they closely resemble each other in general morphology and biology.
Sixteen species of crabs have been so far reported from Bangladesh waters, of which the common ones are Scylla serrata, Portunas pelagicus, P. sanguinolentus, Charybdis feriata, Charybdis rostrata, Matuta lunaris, M. planipes, Clappa lophos, C. pustulosa, Varuna litterata, Sartorina spinigera, Ocypoda cratopthalma, and Gelasimus annulipes.
Most of these species are economically important but the serrated mud crab, also known as mangrove crab or Scylla serrata is now the most commercially important species and is widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific region.
Crabs can breed throughout the year, but for mud crab peak seasons in Bangladesh are May to August, and December to February.
Crab fishery is now an important economic activity in Bangladesh.
Worldwide crustacean aquaculture mainly represents the culture of shrimp and lobsters.
But in recent decades crab culture, particularly the culture of mangrove mud crab, Scylla serrata, has received the most attention because of its market demand and decreasing natural production.
