Founder & Early Childhood Education Specialist
Nadia Hernandez has been in education since 2001. She began teaching science and math in middle school and then became an early childhood special education teacher.
Through her career as an educator, Nadia has learned evidenced-based strategies and tools to improve children’s communication, independent, fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, and cognitive abilities. She had modified and differentiated lesson plans and curricula to support her students, as well as write developmentally appropriate IEP goals to support her students.
Nadia has also been trained and certified in PECS (The Picture Exchange Communication System), TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children) approach, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy, and Nonviolent Crisis Prevention & Intervention Training (CPI) with Advance Physical Skills.
Furthermore, Nadia taught as a master’s degree college professor at Lehman College in New York, focusing on the theoretical bases and techniques underlying the psycho-educational evaluation of bilingual children with learning and behavior problems. In 2016, Nadia became the founding principal of a special education preschool in Scarsdale, NY. In 2020, Nadia decided to move to Polk County, Florida and currently work as a district-wide academic behavior support teacher, modelling strategies for teachers who have students with severe behavior and who need tier 3 behavior interventions and supports.
Nadia founded NadiaHedu to provide trainings and professional development to parents and educators in search of more education and support.
Special Education Curriculum Specialist
Jennie Abreu has been an elementary special education teacher since 2010. She has specialized in modifying traditional education curriculum to meet student’s needs, administering skills, test, and other assessments to determine the progress of the students with special needs.
Jennie currently works as a district-wide special education coach. She models effective teaching strategies and observes program implementation for PreK through 8th grade ESE classrooms. She meets regularly with PreK through 8th grade teachers, other instructional coaches, and district teacher leaders, and administrators to review data and make instructional decisions, and she reviews data to make instructional decisions with the administration to guide the comprehensive, supplemental and intervention programs.
She joined NadiaHedu as a specialist to help parents and educators support their child/students with special needs.
