Nadia Karamcheva

I am an economist in the Labor, Income Security and Long-term Analysis Unit at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in Washington DC. Prior to joining CBO, I worked at the Urban Institute and at the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. My research focuses on topics in labor economics and applied econometrics, with emphasis on retirement and the economics of aging. Some of my recent work examined issues related to Social Security, public and private pension plans, labor supply of older adults, retirement income security, and wealth inequality.

I have a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College, an M.A. in Economics from the same university, and a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria.
