Hello! I'm Nadia Ehlert. I am a student at the University of Kentucky studying Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics through the Lewis Honors College Scholars of Engineering and Management Program. I enjoy collaborating as a team, product design, leadership, and public speaking. Additionally, I am passionate about helping others find joy in exploring mathematics through my role as a tutor for all levels of math.
During the summers, I work on my family's blueberry farm! Here, I do hands-on work applying engineering lessons to projects around the farm; this solidifies my passion for design and fabrication while allowing me to explore my interests in business.
Why Engineering? Freshman year of high school, I was thrown into an engineering class, and on day one, the question was proposed: What does an engineer do? Of course, I had no idea, and after a couple of wrong answers from our class, our teacher responded, "Engineers make things to help people and make people's lives better." That quickly became my why. So as calculus and chemistry push me to my limits, I remember being a young lady in that class and just how much those words meant to me. Also, I just love math!
