In situ fossils
On the left is an image of some of the rugose corals in a cluster, found at Lake Nacogdoches.
On the right is a piece of one of the hematite rich layers in the Weches, this piece was found in Lanana Creek in Nacogdoches. Prominently you can see some fossil molds/impressions as the original fossil that made them has eroded away.
There are several corals found in the Weches, most commonly the Rugose (Horn Corals), followed by Fan corals, and then Branching corals. On the left and right are two different branching coral sections ruler is in mm. While below are some rugose and fan corals found on site
To the left are two different types of gastropod shells. There are many types of gastropods in the Weches these two had the best detail out of our findings. Ruler is in mm.
