The Nachos were started by long time lacrosse coach Michael Brand. Originally from Western New York, Coach Brand's coaching journey has taken him around the world. He has coached or played in nine countries and twenty states, even coaching in the Lacrosse World Championships in 2014 with Team Thailand. At the collegiate level he has coached at Bath University in the UK, Medaille College, Misericordia University, Centenary College, Brown University and Texas State. In 2015 his Texas State team won the Lone Star Alliance championship.

During his time in San Antonio, Coach Brand won three THSLL district championships at Reagan and mentored 27 players to All-State and All-District honors. In 2016 he started the Tacos Lacrosse Club, a high school age travel team winning a handful of regional tournaments and helping over 40 players join collegiate teams. The Tacos host a summer box lacrosse league made up of high schoolers from across San Antonio and are looking to add younger leagues. He also founded the Chargers Lacrosse club with the ultimate goal to bring lacrosse to Churchill High School.

Still an avid lacrosse player, Brand also founded the San Antonio Burritos, a men's box travel team. The Burritos are the three time ULAX Austin Box League champions, taking home the hardware in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
