My name is Camille Jones. I studied Japanese at Harvard and Princeton Universities in the United States. I also completed D.E.A. graduate studies in premodern Japanese at Langues Orientales-INALCO in Paris. I completed a D.E.A. thesis and graduated with highest honors. I was admitted to Ph.D. studies at Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Historiography. I worked on diaries and original sources to discover more about the actual administration of justice in Heian and Kamakura-era Japan. I completed all general exams for Ph.D. candidacy at Princeton University with a nearly perfect GPA. However, I was never formally admitted to candidacy. However, I kept my interests alive in Japanese - particularly in sharing the language with all kinds of minds and with youth of every race and culture in the United States. I have made amazing discoveries about how stereotypes can erase the beauty, courage, and exceptionality of the everyday person and about how unique each Japanese voice can be. I am committed to sharing the story of as many as I can - in ways that build bridges rather than walls across cultures and peoples. Enjoy!
