I am a Research Fellow in Gravitational Waves (GWs), with research emphasis on the fundamental physics and astrophysical implications of compact binary mergers detected through GWs. I am a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration from 2017, where I have contributed to flagship analyses, publications and from 2025 January have been selected as the co-chair of the testing general relativity sub-group. I also contribute to the next-generation GW detector science case studies, including Einstein Telescope, Cosmic Explorer, Lunar Gravitational Wave Antenna and Laser Interferometric Space Antenna. At University of Birmingham I study the population properties of high redshift compact binaries using next generation detectors.

School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Birmingham
I moved to Birmingham in July 2024. My research focuses on astrophysical population properties of compact binary mergers observable by next-generation gravitational wave detectors. Particularly interested in population III star remnants, the first stars ever born, and binaries with neutron stars.
Astrophysical Relativity,
International Center for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS-TIFR)
I took a postdoctoral position at ICTS and moved back to India, in October 2022. After that, I received the National Post-doctoral Fellowship from the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India, and continued in ICTS till July 2024. My research focused on tests of general relativity, tests of black hole nature using gravitational waves and compact binary parameter inference.
Binary Merger Observations and Numerical Relativity,
Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute)
After submitting my PhD thesis, I joined the independent research group led by Frank Ohme with a PhD equivalent position and then continued as a postdoc, during September 2019 to October 2022. I worked on waveform systematics, tests of general relativity, tests of black hole nature and started contributing to LIGO Virgo KAGRA collaboration's flagship analyses.
I did my Ph.D. with Prof. K. G. Arun. and the thesis is titled "Testing the binary black hole nature of compact binary mergers using gravitational-wave observations".
The first two years of PhD program, we had a Master course, and I recieved my second Master's degree from CMI!
My Master's thesis was on "Multi-party quantum entanglement swapping"
and the advisor was Prof. M. Sabir (late).
