A Community Improvement Contest project is selected every two years by the Club. Past projects include: Back Pack Project in the Mason County School system, assistance to the Mason County Public Library, development of a “tot lot” at the Maysville River Park, a Community Information Booklet, Safe Sitter classes, restoration of the Pioneer Cemetery, recycling education program taught by MYWC members in the local primary schools, building Mulberry Park behind the library, building the MYWC Past Presidents Park in Washington, hosting a “Healthy Kids” event at the YMCA, hosting a parenting class at the Extension Office, a clothing drive for local elementary schools, and the MCTC Miles for Mom Scholarship, and Adventure to Fun.
